The Silly Season is often a hectic time of year. Stress can begin to pile up, which can lead to added anxiety and issues with falling and staying asleep. Lack of sleep or bad quality sleep can make us more likely to reach for a coffee just to get through the day.
The only problem with added caffeine is that it stimulates the adrenal glands in the body, think stress hormones, adding fuel to the fire. This can make our system feel jacked up and wired at an already stressful time of year. Often this can lead to restlessness, sleep issues or feelings of insomnia, making us reach for even more coffee. You can see how the cycle keeps going!
